Bicycle Belts had an amazing year in 2013! I can't say enough how thankful I am for everyone's support. Aside from making hundreds of belts, I had a blast all year riding bikes, traveling, meeting new friends, blogging, and sponsoring lots of great races and events. For 2014, you can expect more of the same. Bicycle Belts has a simple goal, concentrate on putting out handmade, high-quality, durable, repurposed bicycle tire belts. I enjoy making each belt and seeing the transition from a used tire into a completely new product. It's fun to think of where each tire has gone, what roads or trails it has seen, what bike it may have been on, etc., and then to see where it goes when it's repurposed into a new belt. The first batch of products for 2014 was just completed today and we're looking forward to another great year! Thanks everybody!
The belts feature the same great qualities you've come to expect from Bicycle Belts with some nice added features. First off, an adjustable u-lock strap made from durable polyester webbing on the left rear. We also decided to use grommets to reinforce the belt holes and add a nice aesthetic. We also added logos and some yellow accents to complete the package. Be sure to check them out.
Lots going on with Bicycle Belts this summer and first things first , I just want to say thanks to all the customers, followers, and my local bike shops for constantly helping along the way. My local shops have been really helping out by recycling and saving their used tires for me to pick up and I really appreciate it. To date, over 500 tires have been saved from the landfill and turned into belts. Last fall I decided to begin numbering each belt in the inventory and this has made it way easier for shoppers to pick the belt that they want. While many people recommend making the belts purchasable directly from the website, I still choose to work with each customer individually to get you the belt you're most happy with. I find it way more rewarding to meet and correspond directly with customers from all around the world along the way.
For 2013, my goal remains the same, to put out top quality, one-of-a-kind, handmade belts and keychains. Aside from that I've been very active on the blog as well as the social media outlets. If you're not following, be sure to follow our Facebook page as well as Instagram and Twitter. We just had our first contest and product giveaway this week and many more contests, giveaways, cycling posts, etc. will be coming soon, plus followers get the first look at new products such as the Instagram belt of the day, etc.
The next event Bicycle Belts will be sponsoring is Hellcat 3 Alleycat Race in Jacksonville, Florida on July 27th along with many other great sponsors. I'll be there riding and racing all weekend so be sure to give a shout. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.
I design and produce handmade, one-of-a-kind bicycle tire belts from used bicycle tires. Without reusing these tires, they would normally end up in a landfill, so make your statement and show your passion for cycling and the environment by wearing one. Handmade from repurposed bicycle tires these unique belts add style to any outfit. These belts are waterproof which makes them far more durable than leather or cloth belts. With the strength of the threads, flat protection and rubber compounds found in a bicycle tire, these belts will likely last forever. These belts make wonderful conversation pieces as well. Aside from our Online Store, I also do custom orders, so if you have your own tire that holds a special memory for you, maybe a race, century, tour, etc. contact me and I can make a custom belt for you.
